School Website Development Training Program Successfully Conducted

The Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya, successfully conducted a School Website Development Training Program, designed to enhance the digital capabilities of school communities. Two leading schools from the Central Province — Mahamaya Girls’ College and Swarnajothi College — actively participated in this hands-on workshop. The training focused on equipping students and staff with essential web development skills, enabling them to design, manage, and maintain functional and visually appealing school websites. This timely initiative was conceptualized by Professor Sakunthala Yatigammana, Head of the Department of IT, and carried out under her expert supervision. Her vision to empower schools with modern digital infrastructure played a vital role in the program's success. The Department remains committed to supporting the digital transformation of the education sector through practical training, collaboration, and innovation.
