Successful Completion of IT Capacity Development Program for Central Province School Principals

The Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya, proudly announces the successful completion of the IT Capacity Development Program for school principals in the Central Province. This impactful initiative, organized under the visionary leadership of Professor Sakunthala Yatigammana, Head of the Department, has already empowered over 500 school principals through four dedicated training batches (Group 01, 02, 03, and 04). The program aims to enhance digital literacy and promote the effective use of Information Technology in school administration and educational leadership. Through interactive sessions, practical demonstrations, and hands-on activities, the participants gained valuable knowledge and skills essential for navigating the evolving digital landscape in the education sector. This initiative marks a significant step forward in bridging the digital divide within the provincial education system, supporting the Ministry of Education’s broader goals for digital transformation in schools. The Department is now preparing to welcome two more upcoming batches, continuing our commitment to supporting school leaders across the Central Province.
